JOTIS Loucoumades Mix
255g box
Item #:11205
Loukoumades – called “Lokma” in Turkish, “Luqaimat” in Arabic and “Bamiyeh” in Persian – is a traditional desserts thought to have first roots in Ancient Greece. They were offered to winners at the Olympic Games along with their wreaths. Loukoumades are deep-fried dumplings which are drenched in a honey and cinnamon or cardamom-flavored syrup – or in a lemon, orange or rosewater-scented simple syrup – dusted with powdered sugar and rolled in grated walnuts or pistachios. This classic Greek version of “donut holes” also has a centuries-old history among the Sephardic Jews of Greece, who traditionally serve them at Hanukkah. With JOTIS Loukoumades Mix, we’ve taken the hard work out of making these light and airy dumplings. Each mix includes one sachet of the dumpling mix and one sachet of yeast. All you need is to add is water to the dry ingredients and to deep fry the Loukoumades to golden perfection. Once the dumplings are done, the choice of syrup and topping is up to you! One can never go wrong with the classics. Or you can try something new like caramel or chocolate sauce or raspberry coulis. Each Loukoumades Mix makes 50-60 small dumplings.
